Like it or not, we witches are quite often sought after regarding affairs of love. “What?” you ask, “Can you really make someone fall in love with me?” Let me put it this way…unethical love magic creates drama, bad karma, and ill-will. Ethical love magic creates confidence, personal magnetism, a sense of heart-centeredness, and the eventual attainment of long-lasting love. At this workshop, we’ll align ourselves with the vibration of universal love in a meditation, then explore some of my tried-and-true recipes for creating herbal potions that are designed to help you sashay, simmer, smolder, shimmer, and sail forth toward your heart’s desires.

The Jaguar the Roams the Mind is a journey into the vanishing world of Amazonian Shamanism - an adventure of initiation and return - that explores the unique reality at the heart of the Amazonian Healing system. Robert Tindall shares his journeys through the inner and outer landscapes of the churches of ayahuasca and with the Kaxinawa Indians in Brazil; his experiences at the pioneering center for the treatment of addiction, Takiwasi, in Peru; and his studies with an Ashaninca master shaman deep in the rainforest jungle.
Robert Tindall is a writer, classical guitarist, and inveterate traveler who has lived in England, Argentina, Peru and Mexico. With his wife, Susana, he leads groups into the Amazon rain forest to encounter the indigenous healing traditions there. He lives in the Bay Area.
Join Robert Tindall as he gives a brief talk about his book, his journeys into the Amazon and his experiences with shamanism. He'll also be signing copies of the book, available now at the Sacred Well.

Lucid Dreaming with black kyanite

Tonight, this friendly lady came into the store. Let's call her "Lucid Dreamer." Maybe "Lucid" for short.

So, Lucid comes up to the counter and opens with, "I'm not a weird person. In fact, I am a very practical person. BUT..." Now, let me just say how much we love stories that open like that. We are, in fact, a bunch of very weird people and so whatever comes after that phrase is almost always certainly to delight us. Tonight was no exception.

Lucid proceeded to tell us about a dream she had. A very vivid dream. In this dream, she reached up to scratch an itch on her nose, and felt something there. Not to be graphic, but she thought it was a bit of snot. But when she scratched her nose, she started to pull something down and out. It was long-ish, black, it looked like bark, but was glossy. That was the dream.

She had never been to TSW before- had looked us up, has some past experience with similar shops and was interested to see what we have to offer. She goes to the gym down the street, like many of our customers (Bless you, you healthy folks!) Tonight, as she walked past the store, she just felt drawn to come in...

...and she walked right up to the black kyanite and said, "This is it! This is what was in my dream!"

Then Lucid sat down and read in our crystal books about black kyanite and how it is all about lucid dreaming, and how it is connected to the pineal gland (AKA the third eye, right above the nose and between the eyebrows- exactly where she pulled it out from in the dream), and how it clears obstacles and connects us to past lives. She was stunned. She said recently she has been thinking a lot about lucid dreaming, past lives and karma.

Needless to say, she left very happy and a bit dazed by the magic of it all, and with a nice piece of black kyanite in her pocket. Wonder what will happen next? Good luck, Lucid Dreamer!

Earth Hour Spell By Steph and Iris

This Saturday evening (March 28th) is Earth Hour, when people all over the world will be turning off their lights and electric devices for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, local time. My friend Steph came up with a great idea that while we're all lighting candles, we could be making magic to spread the concept of less consumption and ecological mindfulness! (For more info on Earth Hour, see http://www.earthhour.org/home/).

You will need: one green candle
Sacred Well Earth Oil, or Love oil, or Protection Oil
(or your favorite earthy scent, like oakmoss or vetiver)
one small fluorite stone, or clear quartz crystal point

Step One: Turn off all lights and non-necessary electronics - it's Earth Hour, that's the whole idea! Light some candles to see by.

Step Two: Using a knife or a nail, carve the words "I love Mother Earth" or "Nature is our Mother" or "gratitude" or "conservation" or whatever inspires you.

Step Three: Bless your candle and your stone with your Earth oil. If you like, bless yourself as well!

Step Four: Light your green candle.

Step Five: Charge your stone in the light of the candle by repeating "What we do to the Earth, we do to ourselves. I live in balance with the Earth." 3 times or more. Picture the stone "broadcasting" the message of mindfulness to everyone in your community and to our world leaders.

Put your candle in a safe place, and let it burn down. Carry your stone with you, or keep it on your altar. This spell is also great for Earth Day, April 22. Why not do it twice?

When I was 13 years old, I bought a copy of Culpepper's Complete Herbal, and it was love. For over 20 years I have grown, harvested, wildcrafted, brewed, healed, changed, and potioned with my herbal allies. In this workshop, I will share recipes, magical tactics, and strategies for bringing more wealth into your life. And while, yes, I am talking about welcoming the divine general abundance of goodness of the Universe, I am also, specifically, talking about MONEY. Herbal magic is a great way to actualize currency in one's life, and there are techniques both ancient and modern for making this happen. In this workshop, I will do some talking and brief lecturing about some of my favorite money-generating herbs and their uses, and then we'll get down to business with a magical crafting. We will be making herbal philtres to create a sense of "I have more than enough money to easily meet my all of my needs and several of my wants." From this crucial first step, then you will be prepared to go out and start working on the BIG money.
